This is one of those cities that you can visit at any time of the year - even a short stay will be a great idea! Malaga is not only a piece of history, intriguing architecture, fantastic cuisine and beautiful weather almost every day, but also long kilometers of sandy beaches and lots of charming alleys hidden in the Old Town. All this means that the Andalusian metropolis, located on the Mediterranean Sea and at the foot of the majestic Betic Mountains, has stolen the heart of many travelers. Will you be able to resist the famous gateway to the Costa del Sol?
Malaga - the biggest attractions of Ciudad Genial
Brilliant City, which is also the name often used to describe the second largest town in Andalusia (only the capital, Seville, is larger), has been considered one of the most interesting places in Spain for years. The most important monuments of Malaga include: the popular "La Manquita", i.e. the Santa Iglesia Catedral Basílica de la Encarnación, the Roman Theater, the Phoenician port, the defensive castle of Gibralfaro and the Alcezaba palace, built in the 11th century by the then Muslim rulers. However, if you are not a fan of admiring architecture, don't worry: a holiday in Malaga has much more to offer. The Picasso Museum, who was born in this city, is extremely popular. The museum dedicated to him contains over 200 works by the brilliant artist. We associate him mainly with painting, but we must remember that Picasso is also the author of many wonderful sculptures and graphics. Need some shade and a return to nature? Be sure to visit the historical and botanical garden of La Concepción with thousands of species of exotic plants brought here from all over the world. You can also go a little out of town to the Montes de Malaga Natural Park. It is a real paradise for hiking enthusiasts and people who love to cycle mountain routes. There were also numerous attractions for children in Malaga and the surrounding towns.
In addition to sandy beaches, the youngest tourists can also enjoy:
• Selwo Merina dolphinarium,
• a zoo reproducing the natural environmental conditions of Bioparc Fuengirola,
• or the largest water park on the Costa del Sol - Aqualand Torremolinos.
