Lodz Airport appreciated by ACI Europe

05.02.2024

The airport in Łódź, as the only one in Poland, was distinguished by the Association of European Airports (ACI Europe) among the airports that coped best with rebuilding traffic after the pandemic.

📈 The ACI Europe Association summarized 2023 regarding  European airports. Analysts compare last year with 2019 - the last "normal" year before the pandemic, during which flight bans and restrictions distorted the statistics. The conclusion is that passenger traffic in Europe has increased by 19%, but has not yet reached pre-Covid-19 levels.

📈 ACI Europe takes into account the percentage growth and trend rather than absolute passenger numbers and rates airports in five groups depending on the number of passengers handled.

📈 The Łódź Airport is on the list of airports that are doing well after the pandemic, have regained traffic and even recorded a significant increase in the number of passengers. In 2023, the number of passengers using the airport was 356,878, an increase of 97%. compared to 2019.

📈 Łódź was included in the fifth group of airports that are serving up to one million passengers per year, together with the airports of Trapani in Sicily (an increase of 223%), Perugia (+143%), Tirana (+117%), Samarkand (+110%), Łódź (+97%), Kutaisi (+91%), Zadar (+88%).

📈 This is the third distinction for Łódź in the ACI Europe ranking in 2023. Previously, the airport was recognized for its growth in the first half of the year amounting to 38%. and for the largest increase in August of 48%.
